With National Happy Hour Day coming up on November 12th, we wanted to help you all celebrate with cold brew coffee cocktails! The perfect combination of coffee and alcohol that will leave you wondering why you’ve never thought of this before. No need to search around for coffee cocktail recipes -- we’ve got you covered! The perfect handbook to an afterhours company event or the next holiday party! So, how did we come up with these? Similar to our Iron Chef competitions for our seasonal menu, we asked our staff to concoct boozy coffee cocktails with the winners being served at our recent Halloween Happy Hour.
Nitro Cold Brew Irish Car Bomb
Let’s start off with a more traditional route. Our first drink is the Nitro Cold Brew Irish Car Bomb. The Irish Car Bomb has the perfect mixture of creamy, sweet and aromatic notes of honey whiskey. Instead of the traditional Guinness, drop this ‘bomb’ into your Nitro Cold Brew for a tasty drink that will make your mouth water for more.
- 1/2 ounce Baileys Irish Cream
- 1/2 ounce Jameson Irish Whiskey
- 6 ounces of Nitro Cold Brew
Pour one 1/2 ounce of Baileys Irish Cream into a shot glass. Fill the other half of the shot glass with one 1/2 ounce of Jameson Irish Whiskey. Immediately drop the full shot glass into about 6 ounces of Nitro Cold Brew making sure it is fully submerged. Chug!
Grand Nitro Cold Brew Fashioned
Next up is another twist on a classic...introducing the Grand Nitro Cold Brew Fashioned. This drink is like an OId Fashioned with the twist, of course, being coffee. Enjoy a refreshing beverage with tang and finesse.
- 2 oz Grand Marnier (or other orange-flavored liqueur)
- 4 dashes of bitters
- 1 oz Nitro Cold Brew
- Orange peel
Pour 2 oz of Grand Mariner into desired glass. Add 4 dashes of bitters and 1 oz Nitro Cold Brew. Add ice and stir mixing thoroughly. Garnish with an orange peel and enjoy! Side note: we highly recommend using our Shenandoah Spring Nitro Cold Brew with this drink!
Our next beverage is one created and named after our Pentagon City cafe manager, Jacquelyn. We all love the taste of that leftover cereal milk, right? Well think coffee, booze, and cereal. This drink will sweep you off to your childhood as well as delight your taste buds. Introducing Count Jacula.
- 1 oz Ketel One Vodka
- 2 oz Nitro Cold Brew
- Heavy cream
- Handful of Cocoa Puffs
Begin by putting a handful of ice into your cup. Then pour 1 oz of Ketel One Vodka into your glass. Next add 2 oz of Nitro Cold Brew. If you work by our shop, we recommend picking up either our Blue Ridge Bluff or Humpback Hike Decaf since these have chocolate notes. Next add the heavy cream to about the top and stir. Finish it off with fresh cocoa puffs for extra chocolate goodness!
Cinn Toast Spring
Our last beverage is another childhood favorite cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Cinn Toast Spring marries together sugar and spice into the perfect cold coffee cocktail.
- 2 oz of Rumchata
- 1 oz of Shenandoah Spring Nitro Cold Brew
- 1 pump cinnamon syrup
- Handful of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- Gibraltar or 4.5 oz glass
Grab a shaker and pour 2 oz of Rumchata into it. Add 1 pump of cinnamon syrup and 1 oz of Shenandoah Spring Nitro Cold Brew. Shake it up and pour into a gibraltar glass or 4.5 oz glass full of ice. Top it off with some Cinnamon Toast Crunch and serve!
